EMME (Environmental Metrics on Mitigation Efforts) Project (ongoing)
This project investigates a wide range of urban heat mitigation strategies across multiple scales—from city-wide interventions to single-family homes. It focuses on practical solutions such as cool roofs, cool pavements, urban tree planting, and shading structures. Using a data-driven approach, the project prioritizes locations with the highest potential impact for each strategy. Ongoing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations evaluate the cooling performance of interventions at different spatial scales. This integrated analysis aims to inform targeted decision-making and support scalable, science-based approaches to urban climate resilience.
