Biography
Parisa Najafian is a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering with a focus on Building Performance at the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She is a researcher in the Climate Sensitive Design Lab (CSDL) and serves as both a Graduate Research Assistant and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P).
Research Interests
Parisa investigates how urban environments function, interact with regional and global climates, and influence building energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and public health. Her research combines innovative modeling tools, observational data, climate analysis methods, and climate model outputs. Parisa Najafian aims to deepen our basic understanding of how urban environments interact with society and the climate system over time from the past to the future and to promote sustainable, resilient urban growth.
